DESCRIPTION:Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone who once learne
d to crochet and have forgotten how\, this class is for you! We start at th
e beginning\, looking at tools and yarn. You will learn chain stitch\, slip
stitch\, single\, half double and double crochet\, increasing and decreasi
ng and how to read patterns and diagrams. You will make a dishcloth\, scarf
\, granny squares and a small stuffed animal.\n\nRequired supply list: (Not
e: Occasionally classes are canceled due to low enrollment. Please wait to
purchase supplies until 5 business days prior to the start of this class to
ensure the class will be held.)\n\nPlease be sure to bring the following i
tems to our first meeting:\n \n- Metal or plastic crochet hook\, size H/8 (
5mm)\n\n- At least 2 ounces of “beginner” cotton yarn (such as Woobles Easy
Peasey or Cuddle Craft Tube yarn) in a light color. This type of yarn may
have this symbol on the paper band that goes around it: or it may be called
“worsted weight” or medium weight #4. The yarn itself looks like a thin tu
be of t-shirt type knitted material. If you are unable to find this type of
yarn\, buy a small ball of 100% cotton yarn such as Sugar n’ Cream. Again\
, stick with light colors.\n\n- A small amount of light colored acrylic yar
n (leftover odds and ends are fine!)\n\n- Scissors\n\n- Stitch markers (not
the ring-type\, the type that clip close like safety pins)\n\n- A bag to c
arry your project materials in (a shopping bag is fine)\n\n- You will need
to purchase additional skeins of yarn and additional hooks in other sizes f
or projects as the class progresses\, but we will discuss that in class. St
ores frequently sell kits with a range of crochet hook sizes\, which may sa
ve you a bit on the cost of the individual hooks. If you find such a kit th
at covers the size range from H through L (possibly with additional sizes t
hrown in)\, it would be a good investment.

have this symbol on the paper band that goes around it: or it may be called
“worsted weight” or medium weight #4. The yarn itself looks like a thin tu
